Evening parking lot check leads to possible charges

While on routine patrol, recently, a Windom police officer made a discovery that could lead to charges against a Worthington juvenile.

The officer noticed a vehicle with its lights on, parked in the Lewis Family Drug parking lot well past 11 p.m. on a weeknight. That's a time when the lot is usually almost empty.

When something seems a bit out of place, the officer often checks it out. As a result of further investigation, a 16-year-old Worthington male faces possible charges related to a permit violation, pending review by the county attorney's office.

For much more on the recent activities of local law enforcement, check the Oct. 14 and Oct. 21 editions of the Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
