Fourth grade to move to Highland Nov. 16

At Monday's regular school board meeting, the board learned that fourth-grade students will move to the Highland building on Nov. 16.

Renovation work at Highland will wrap up in the days prior to the move. On Nov. 16, roughly 95 students and their teachers will make the transition.

Those students are currently at the new Windom Area Elementary School, but due to COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, the rooms designed to house fourth- and fifth-grade students are housing students in other grades. Fourth-grade students have had classes in the gym, media center and other areas of the building, while fifth-grade students have been at the middle/high school.

The move to Highland also coincides with the first day of second quarter.
