Sixth Street safety markers may be sign of things to come
When you see cars slow down on Sixth Street for the white stakes at Windom's Island Park entrance, you are watching the "bullards" (a term used for these stakes) work exactly as they were intended, according to Brian Cooley, Windom street superintendent.
"They are called 'bump outs,'" Cooley said, recently. "They are trying to narrow up the road there. It makes people slow down and recognize that there is a crosswalk there."
Check the Sept. 30 Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition for complete information on the new bullards.
