9/24/2020 11:24:00 AM SCAM ALERT: Local woman gets 3 debit cards in mail--out of the blue
When something strange arrives in the mail - out of the blue - it is often a scam.
That was the case for a Windom woman who recently received three debit cards in the mail from Sun Trust Bank.
The woman had not submitted information to open accounts at the bank. Upon learning of the situation, the bank flagged the accounts as fraudulent.
An employee at Sun Trust Bank said scammers typically wait until the accounts are verified and then change the address.
