8/5/2020 8:23:00 AM BREAKING: Windom City Council OKs rezoning needed for apartment complex
At last night's regular meeting, the Windom City Council approved the rezoning of the EDA's spec building property from light industrial to residential.
The move paves the way for a developer to remodel the spec building into an apartment complex. The property sale hinged on rezoning.
Some residents opposed the project, based on traffic concerns and potential fire safety issues related to the fact that there is just one outlet on the road leading to the spec building. The building is located just north of the Windom Community Center.
Including the purchase of the building and six acres, this is a $2 million project, according to Windom Economic Development Director Drew Hage.
