BREAKING: Mt. Lake Chamber of Commerce votes to change name of Pow Wow

In a statement released this afternoon, the Mt. Lake Chamber of Commerce announced that its board has voted to change the name of its annual celebration.

One of the longest running celebrations in the region, the name Pow Wow has been easily recognized throughout the region as Mt. Lake's event. However, that will change with the 2021 event.

Here is the statement which was released by Rob Anderson, Mt. Lake Chamber director:

"At the Aug. 4, 2020 Special Mt. Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors meeting, board members voted to approve changing the name of the community's annual celebration. Board members want to make it clear to the public that the community celebration will not change. After careful consideration board members are unified in looking toward the future."

The event's new name has not yet been announced.
