Friday COVID-19 update: County at 167 cases
Friday's Minnesota Department of Health daily COVID-19 update shows the number of overall lab-confirmed cases in Cottonwood County at 167. Eight new cases of the virus have been reported since Monday.
Jackson County currently reports 68 cases of the virus, with four new cases reported since Monday.
Around the region, the number of cases continues to climb but has slowed, particularly in Watonwan County, which saw a rapid spike of cases a few weeks ago.
Regional totals for the virus include:
Nobles County: 1,738 cases, 6 deaths.
Watonwan County: 299 cases.
Martin County: 202 cases, 5 deaths.
Murray County: 120 cases, 1 death.
Brown County: 79 cases, 2 deaths.
Redwood County: 30 cases.
Statewide numbers include:
Overall cases: 54,463
Overall deaths: 1,600
Deaths in long-term care or assisted living: 1,223
Health-care workers diagnosed: 6,259
Overall hospitalized: 5,155
Currently hospitalized: 312
Currently in ICU: 151
Overall patients no longer requiring isolation: 47,289
Overall tests completed in state: 1,024,916
The MDH report notes congregate care facilities that have reported an exposure to COVID-19 in the past 28 days. That list is currently updated only on Fridays. Congregate care facilities on the MDH list in the region include:
Cottonwood: Good Samaritan Society Windom.
Martin: Lakeview Methodist Healthcare Center, Fairmont.
Martin: Vista Prairie at Goldfinch Estates, Fairmont
Martin: Heartland Senior Living Home, Truman
