7/28/2020 4:23:00 PM Good Samaritan Windom does not have new exposure to COVID-19
A previous exposure to COVID-19 reported at Good Samaritan Society Windom has created confusion for families of residents.
GSS Windom Administrator Nancy Wepplo informed the Citizen that the person who tested positive several weeks ago was retested and tested positive.
"The CDC recommends that anyone who tests positive shouldn't even test again for a three-month period," Wepplo said. "The person felt sick and went in and got retested. The person should have contacted us prior to retesting."
The Minnesota Department of Health updates its congregate care facilities with exposure to COVID-19 every Friday. Wepplo stated this instance was treated by GSS Windom as a new exposure, although it was a repeat of a previous exposure from several weeks ago.
