Friday COVID-19 update: Cottonwood County increases to 139 cases
Friday's Minnesota Department of Health COVID-19 update shows one new case of the virus in Cottonwood County in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 139.
Des Moines Valley Heath and Human Services reports that three of the 136 cases of the virus in the county are considered active, within a minimum 10-day isolation period.
Jackson County has no new cases of the virus in the past 24 hours, leaving its total at 55. None of the cases in Jackson County are currently active.
Regional totals for the virus include:
Nobles County: 1,676 cases, 6 deaths.
Watonwan County: 245 cases.
Martin County: 172 cases, 5 deaths.
Murray County: 68 cases.
Brown County: 43 cases, 2 deaths.
Redwood County: 21 cases.
Statewide numbers include:
Overall cases: 40.767.
Overall deaths: 1,495.
Deaths in long-term care or assisted living: 1,166.
Health-care workers diagnosed: 3,965.
Overall hospitalized: 4,329.
Currently hospitalized: 227.
Currently in ICU: 124.
Overall patients recovered: 35,442.
Overall tests completed in state: 725,825.
