5/29/2020 11:31:00 AM No new cases of COVID-19 in Cottonwood County
There are no new cases of COVID-19 reported in Cottonwood or Jackson counties in Friday's Minnesota Department of Health daily update.
Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services states that 62 of the 68 cases in Cottonwood County are now beyond the 10-day isolation period, while 37 of the 39 cases in Jackson County are beyond the 10-day isolation period.
Around the region, Nobles County surpassed 1,500 cases and had another death from the virus. Its total stands at 1,503 cases and four deaths. Martin County reports 129 cases and five deaths. Watonwan County reports 69 cases. Murray County reports 37 cases. Brown County reports 14 cases and two deaths. Redwood County reports four cases.
The state currently has 23,531 reported cases of COVID-19 with 996 deaths. Of those, 811 were patients that resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities. There are also 10 deaths where COVID-19 is listed on the death certificate but a positive test was not documented.
MDH also reports that 2,603 health care workers in the state have tested positive for COVID-19.
There are 16,930 patients state-wide who have recovered. There have been 2,936 hospitalized for the virus, with 592 currently hospitalized and 259 currently in intensive care.
The state reports 133,873 tests for COVID-19 having been performed in the state. Over 8,000 tests were completed in the past 24 hours.
