5/28/2020 12:00:00 PM Cottonwood County has three new COVID-19 cases
Cottonwood County has three new cases of COVID-19, according to Thursday's Minnesota Department of Health daily update. That brings the total number of confirmed cases in the county to 68.
Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services said the newest patients are ages 26, 37 and 60. None of the new patients are hospitalized.
Cottonwood County has nine active cases of the virus, with 59 cases considered past the 10-day isolation period. The county has had one hospitalization for the virus.
Jackson County remained at 39 cases of the virus. Of those, 37 are considered past the 10-day isolation period, with two cases active. Jackson County has not had any hospitalizations.
Around the region, Nobles County reported 1,496 cases of the virus with three deaths. Martin County reports 126 cases and five deaths. Watonwan County reports 64 cases. Murray County reports 36 cases. Brown County reports 14 cases and two deaths. Redwood County reports four cases.
Only two counties in the state have not reported any cases of COVID-19: Lake of the Woods and Cook. The state currently has 22,947 reported cases of COVID-19 with 967 deaths. Of those, 787 were patients that resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities. There are also 10 deaths where COVID-19 is listed on the death certificate but a positive test was not documented.
MDH also reports that 2,549 health care workers in the state have tested positive for COVID-19.
There are 16,655 patients state-wide who have recovered. There have been 2,880 hospitalized for the virus, with 606 currently hospitalized and 242 currently in intensive care.
The state reports 225,208 tests for COVID-19 having been performed in the state.
