3/27/2020 7:40:00 AM Details set for Tuesday's special city council meeting
A review of Windom's city buildings and departments will take center stage at Tuesday's special meeting of the Windom City Council.
That is the thrust of a one-page agenda that has been released by city officials. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Windom City Council Chambers.
At the top of the agenda, it states: "Notice of electronic/telephone meeting--Some members may participate by telephone/other means." City Administrator Steve Nasby said the meeting will use a Zoom link (commonly used for interactive online meetings) to facilitate the meeting.
The Windom School Board used Zoom to run Monday's regular meeting and board members were pleased with how it worked. Council members will be able to see one another and city officials will have the ability to "mute" people who are online as viewers, rather than participants.
Here is how Nasby recently summarized the plan in a letter to council members:
"The Zoom link will also be included on the city council agenda and anyone (public\media\etc.) can log in. This will allow public access. The meeting will also be recorded and an MP4 file will be available following the meeting which can be disseminated as needed.
"This special meeting is also a trial run to make sure we get the technology up and working for everyone. Please be understanding as there could be a few bumps along the way."
