Winterfest week underway, coronation is Friday morning
The February blues may be starting to set in, but Winterfest Week is heating up at Windom Area Middle High School.
A full slate of activities is planned for both middle school and high school students throughout the week, culminating with a full day of activities on Friday.
The week really got rolling Monday with the announcement of senior Winterfest candidates at a pep fest in the Gold Gym during homeroom.
Queen candidates are: Reegan Elder, Autumn Hauge, Katelyn Nichols, Shiro Ogeka, Victoria Schutz and Daytona Smedsrud.
King candidates are: Dillon Flaherty, Dylan Fossing, Rhinley Kazuma, Christopher McKibbin, Josh Samdal and Esteban Sandoval.
Coronation, which is open to the public, will be held Friday morning in the Gold Gym, beginning at 10 a.m. Coronation will be preceded by a one-hour game of Family Feud and Get to Know the Candidates for the senior high in the Lecture Hall Theater.
