River Bend Liquor responds to customer requests

Without question, the single most important goal for River Bend Liquor is to keep customers happy.

For that reason Store Manager John Nelson places a high priority on carrying the favorite local wines and craft beers. And, more importantly, he listens to customers. "Customer recommendation is a big thing for us," Nelson said.

"Whether it be special order, or future product placement on the shelf, we base a lot of decisions on what the customers want." Nelson, who has managed River Bend Liquor for just over a year, has the shelves stocked with many of the well-known "tried and true" options.

"We also like to focus on new and upcoming items, along with focusing on the local Minnesota market," Nelson said. Minnesota wines, craft beers Of course, the market for Minnesota- produced wines and beers has exploded in recent years.

River Bend Liquor's list of Minnesota wines includes: • Round Lake Vineyards. • Carlos Creek Winery, Alexandria. • Crow River Winery, Hutchinson. • Indian Island Winery, Janesville. • Millner Heritage Vineyard and Winery, Kasota. • Morgan Creek Vineyards, New Ulm. • Chankaska Creek Ranch and Winery, Kasota. The store's list of Minnesota craft beers includes: • Waconia Brewing Company. • Mankato Brewery. • Take 16, Luverne. • August Schells Brewing Company, New Ulm. • Brau Brothers, Marshall. • Sociable Cider Werks, Minneapolis. • Carlos Creek Winery, Alexandria. • Surly Brewing company, Minneapolis.

"We have, in the past, both special ordered single bottles and cases for our customers," Nelson said. "We have also taken their recommendations and placed it on the shelf for sale -not only for that customer, but for the general population." The requests are not only for Minnesota-based beers and wines, but any alcohol.

Open most holidays One other change customers have noticed is that the store is open most holidays.
