Watonwan County Sheriff's Dept. releases names of crash victims

The Watonwan County Sheriff's Department has released the names of two victims in a recent accident near Darfur.

The crash occurred Jan. 1 at 8:41 p.m. near the intersection of 620th Avenue and 270th Street, three miles north of Darfur. Killed in the accident were Kurt Roiger, 53, of Sanborn and Albert Sellner, 78, of Springfield.

According to Sheriff Jared Bergeman, a 2013 Ford F150 pickup driven by Roiger was northbound on 620th Avenue and a 2004 Buick LaCrosse driven by Sellner was southbound on the same street when the two vehicles collided head-on. The Buick stayed on the roadway and the Ford went off the road. Both were totalled. At the scene were the Watonwan Count Sheriff's Department, Darfur Fire Department and State Patrol.
