10/16/2019 3:00:00 PM Change is familiar word for ALC, ELC programs in 2019-20
You could say that if there's a constant at Red Rock Ridge Alternative Learning Center and ELC-Windom (Educational Learning Center), it's that things keep changing in the two Southwest West Central Cooperative programs in Windom.
And big changes have come and are coming again next year as the programs prepare for a move to a single site in the fall of 2020 - the Winfair building on Sixth Avenue in Windom. Winfair Elementary will move to its new facility on 17th Street, next to the middle high school in the fall of 2020. That opens the door for RRRALC to move from BARC, its home the past three years, and ELC-Windom to move from the Highland building on the east side of Windom, back into one facility.
"We've done some site visits and have architects working with our SWWC Cooperative," says Patrick Archibald, Windom site administrator. "We'll be doing some changes to the building to fit the needs of our students.
"It's exciting because we'll have somewhere new to be."
The Winfair building will provide more room for all of its programming. Presently, the Setting IV SUN and Bridges programs are housed at the Highland building.
