Greeners ready for first call to Windom Free Church
Perhaps the biggest task for Windom Evangelical Free Church's new pastor, Jon Greener, is to rein in his excitement and enthusiasm for his first call.
That might seem like just what a young, energetic pastor shouldn't be doing, but he knows that what God wants accomplished at Greener's first church call will happen in His time.
"I'm not here to reinvent the wheel. I'm not here to try to come up with new ideas because the Bible has all the ideas that the church has ever needed," says Greener, who was installed as the Free Church's new pastor just a couple of weeks ago. "My role is facilitating, or putting into practice, what the Bible offers for the church to do."
Windom Evangelical Free is the first church for Greener and his wife, Katie, both 22 years old and just married in May. Pastor Jon comes to Windom from the Milaca Free Church, the church he attended in high school and at which he had been doing his residency. He takes over for Pastor Dan Van Loon, who served the church in an interim role for the past three years.
