Assembly of God to celebrate 75th anniversary Saturday
When it comes to years of worshipping God in Windom, Windom Assembly of God is one of the community's "newer" churches. And yet, the church will mark its 75th anniversary on Saturday.
The church, located along North Highway 71 in Windom, actually reached its 75th birthday in November.
"We wanted to wait until the spring or summer to make it an event and have it outside," says Greg Moller, a member and lay preacher at the Windom church.
The church has planned a day full of activities and speakers to mark the occasion, kicked off by a freewill donation lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs and salads, furnished by the women's ministry, from noon to 1 p.m. (All activities will take place on the church grounds.) The public is welcome to take part in any or all activities.
For a complete list of activities and a little bit about the 75-year-old church, see the story on the Faith & Family page in the July 10 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands today.
