Courthouse steps, parking lot project nearly completed

It won't be long now before area residents will finally be able to park in front of the Cottonwood County Courthouse and walk through the front door.

It has taken some time, due mainly to weather issues, but the new steps and parking lot are nearly ready for traffic. In February, commissioners agreed that the east steps had deteriorated to the point where replacement was necessary. They accepted a $25,000 bid from Negen Construction.

Negen Construction also received the parking lot construction bid. That project was completed early this week, but the lot is not yet ready for traffic.
