City closes one street, blocks off part of another
Windom Street Superintendent Brian Cooley announced today that a portion of Township Road (which runs behind the Shopko building, near the railroad tracks) has been closed from 24th Street to 16th Street.
"It has numerous sinkholes, frost boils and the asphalt is breaking apart," Cooley said. "It is not safe to drive on. I am advising no traffic on that road until it firms up."
In addition, Cooley said a portion of River Road has a frost boil, which is causing the street to break apart.
"We will be blocking off one lane near 11th Street to reduce traffic on the bad spot," Cooley added. "There are several other smaller spots in many of the streets in town, so drivers should use caution as they maneuver throughout the city Of Windom."
