The impending closure of the Windom Shopko store has caused the Windom Economic Development Authority to make another push for a second grocery store in the community.
At Monday's Windom EDA meeting, Economic Development Director Drew Hage said he has been working closely with Kamin Realty (the owner of the Shopko building) in an effort to attract a new tenant for the 33,275 square foot building and surrounding property. A few weeks ago, the Citizen reported that Shopko will close its Windom store in June.
