3/13/2019 8:42:00 AM Street department gives update on potential flooding
The Windom Street Department is preparing for the potential for street flooding today and tomorrow.
Street Department Supervisor Brian Cooley stated that all the city's catch basins have been cleared of ice and snow, but crews will continue to monitor them throughout the day today.
Cooley added that standing water on streets is likely today, with one to two inches of rain forecast to begin around 9 a.m. With standing water, Cooley advises motorists to use caution in areas with standing water.
Cooley also said that the rain has put blowing streets on hold, as wet conditions are causing the blower to clog.
Windom, Cottonwood County and most of Southern Minnesota is in a flood watch through tomorrow.
