WAHS announces 2019 Winterfest candidates

Windom Area High School officially kicked off Winterfest Week by announcing candidates for next week's celebration Tuesday morning.

Queen candidates are Abby Elness, Maurissa Isaacs, Katrina LaCanne, Sydney Paulson, Ellie Walinga and Madison Willard.
King candidates are Jose Cerda, Tim Ingram, Ethan Mathis, Osmar Roman Parada, Brandyn Sanow and Carter Squires.

Coronation will be held during the school day on Monday at 10 a.m., in the Blue Gym.

A variety of activities are planned throughout, including dress days for each day of the week. They are:

•  Monday - PJ/Snow Day
•  Tuesday - Movie Character Day
•  Wednesday - Ugly Sweater Day
•  Thursday - Occupation/Future Day
•  Friday - Eagle Pride Day

On Thursday, students can send Singing Valentines to fellow students throughout the day.

On Friday, Feb. 15, students will enjoy a half day of activities beginning at 12:45 p.m. Student/staff basketball games are planned in the Blue Gym (grades 9-12) and Gold Gym (grades 6-8). A dance follows the home boys basketball game against Fairmont that evening.
