Knowledge Bowl teams have holiday fun
When area junior high Knowledge Bowl teams come to Windom for their one meet at the local middle school each year, they always can expect something a little different.
For starters, Windom's Knowledge Bowl meet - the last one before the Christmas break for many teams, including Windom - is a "holiday" invitational. So, it didn't come as a big surprise when there were a few holiday questions thrown into the mix of math, science, English, social studies and geography.
In the end, Jackson County Central 1 was crowned the meet champion with 67.5 points. Murray County Central 3 finished second with 64 points, Adrian 1 was third with 58 points.
Windom 1 of Tia Obondo, Cullen Slette, Elizabeth Ngisa and Morgan Johnson was the top finishing team for Windom, earning 11th place with 49 points, while Windom 2 of eighth-graders Chloe Shamp and Taylor Caldwell and sixth-graders Nova Stidham and Zaria Harrington was 23rd with 25 points.
