12/4/2018 4:19:00 PM Community choir to present Christmas cantata
Area residents can celebrate the birth of Jesus with a special Christmas Cantata Sunday at 2 p.m., at American Lutheran Church, 906 Prospect Ave., in Windom.
But it won't be just the American Lutheran Church choir presenting this concert. A total of 45 people from at least six different churches and two communities are coming together to present "The Glory of Christmas."
The concert is a benefit for the Windom Area Sharing Center. While no admission will be charged, a freewill offering will the received for the Sharing Center. Those attending are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Sharing Center.
Refreshments will be served in the church's fellowship hall following the concert.
"We anticipate a good time of fellowship," says the choir's director, Karen Wojahn of American Lutheran Church. "And that's really a part of what this has been about, good fellowship in the community among singers from a variety of churches. We're all singing and celebrating Christmas together."
For more on the concert, see the story on the Faith & Family page in the Dec. 5 issue of the Cottonwood County Citizen on newsstands tomorrow.
