Slayton man killed in motorcycle crash near Jeffers
Chad Danneman of Slayton died in a head-on collision eight miles northwest of Jeffers at 6:23 p.m. Saturday.
According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, the 33-year-old had spent part of the evening fleeing authorities from Cottonwood and Murray counties. At the time of the crash, the pursuit had been terminated, according to the State Patrol's report, and Danneman was westbound on a 1998 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on County Road 10.
The report states that Danneman swerved into the eastbound lane and struck a parked State Patrol vehicle.
The State Patrol report stated that Danneman was ejected from the motorcycle and died on the scene.
Meanwhile, the driver of the State Patrol vehicle, Jeffrey Stearns, 42, of Marshall, received minor injuries.
