Counties to manage watersheds

The good news is Cottonwood County's watersheds can get state money every two years for projects like habitat and wetland restoration, storing water on fields and helping communities with storm water problems.

The state wants all counties in Minnesota to take over managing their watersheds in a new program called One Watershed One Plan. The new system has funding through 2034 through the Legacy Fund.

For much more on this story, see the Dec. 4 Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
