3/14/2019 4:20:00 PM BREAKING NEWS: Cottonwood County declares State of Emergency
According to Cottonwood County Emergency Management Director Paul Johnson, Cottonwood County Commissioners have passed a temporary resolution declaring the county in a State of Emergency.
Johnson said a formal resolution will be made at the board's regular meeting on Tuesday.
The State of Emergency is due to flooding throughout the county from snow melt and rains.
Johnson also said that no travel is advised throughout the county. Although snow is expected not to be heavy, there are roads that are washed out due to flooding. Because of high winds, barricades that have been set up to indicate washed out roads have blown over or away, creating problems for drivers to see where the road has washed out. Water is also running over the road in some locations around the county.
