11/7/2018 11:59:00 AM River Watch: Des Moines in Windom unaffected by recent rains
Just over three-quarters of an inch of rain fell in the Windom area from Friday through Monday, which had little affect on the West Fork of the Des Moines River in Windom.
The .82 inches of rain over the four days caused the river, measured at the bridge near the No. 9 tee box at the Windom Country Club, to rise slightly. It was at a low point of 14.03 feet on Monday, rose to 14.15 feet at 4 p.m., Tuesday, and has dropped again to 14.07 feet.
Riffles at Island Park are noticeable again. No more than a 20 percent chance of precipitation is forecasted in the next week -- and that precipitation is anticipated snow flurries on Friday.
