Eagles fall to Huskies; Falcons maintain share of Red Rock lead

JCC 25-25-25-25 = 3

The Windom Eagle volleyball team ran into a hard-serving Jackson County Central squad Tuesday night, falling 3-1 at Jackson.

The Huskies opened the match with a 5-0 run on four ace serves. JCC finished the night with 17 ace serves.

After dropping the first two sets, the Eagles rallied, fighting off a pair of match points to win set three 27-25. But JCC answered in the fourth set, rolling to a 25-13 win.

Katelyn Nichols led the Eagles with 12 kills and four solo blocks. Autumn Hauge had six kills and three blocks and Becca Hacker had three kills and three blocks.

Paige Pigman went 14-of-14 serving with two aces. Paige Vancura was 13-of-14 with an ace.

Hacker finished with 12 set assists. Vancura had a team-high nine digs.

Fulda 12-10-18 = 0
RRC 25-25-25 = 3

Red Rock Central maintained its share of the Red Rock Conference lead Tuesday night, claiming a 3-0 victory over Fulda at Lamberton.

The Falcons had a balanced night at the net, led by Kaitlyn Rindfleisch's nine kills. Nicole Schroepfer added eight kills, Kierra Highby had seven and Haley Simonson had six.

Simonson went 11-of-11 serving with two aces. Karli Arkell had two aces on 18-of-19 serving and Kennedi Janssen was 11-of-13 serving with an ace.

Janssen finished with 26 set assists. Himonson had a team-high 13 digs.

WWG 17-18-16 = 0
SWC 25-25-25 = 3

Westbrook-Walnut Grove couldn't sustain momentum Tuesday night, dropping a 3-0 decision to Southwest Minnesota Christian at Edgerton.

The Eagles kept WWG's offense from setting up much of the night. Brittany Erickson led WWG with six kills. Halle Steen had four kills and four solo blocks and Camryn Bunting had four kills and one block.

Grace Woelber went 14-of-15 serving with two aces. Emma Wahl was 9-for-9 with an ace. Wahl had a team-high 14 digs and Woelber finished with 16 set assists.
