Cards sweep Eagle golfers; MCC sweeps Red Rock titles

Cardinals sweep Eagles
The Windom Eagle golf team had a tough outing on the home course Wednesday, with both the girls and boys falling to Luverne at the Windom Country Club.

Luverne's girls claimed a 198-204 win, while the boys picked up a 172-192 win.

Windom's Paige Pigman was the girls medalist, firing a 39. Lily Mellstrom added a 45. Allie Ward and Josie Alvstad each scored a 60.

For the boys, Luverne's Coy Gonnerman was the meet medalist, firing an even-par 36. Parker Alvstad led the Eagle boys, shooting a 42. Tylan Porath and Carter Squires each scored a 49 and Jackson Roll shot a 52.

Red Rock Conference Meet
Murray County Central swept the team titles at Wednesday's Red Rock Conference Meet, played at GreatLife Golf Club in Worthington.

MCC won the girls' title with a score of 409. Westbrook-Walnut Grove was fourth with a 481. Mt. Lake Area-Comfrey took sixth with a 592. Red Rock Central played incomplete.

For the boys, MCC won the title with a 347. WWG took third with a 372. RRC was seventh with a 423 and MLAC was eighth with a 457.

Individually for the girls, Tess Van Maanen of Hills-Beaver Creek was the conference champion, firing a 97.

Brittany Erickson of WWG earned all-conference honors, tying for third place with a 100. Halle Steen had a 111, followed by Lexi Herding with a 130 and Emma Wahl with a 140.

Mallary Drake led MLAC with a 131. Olivia Christians added a 140, followed by Kylee McMullen with a 146 and Madison Hartle with a 175.

Carley Baumann earned all-conference honors for RRC, tying for third place with a 100. Bailey Timm shot a 124 and Abigail Meier had a 130.

For the boys, MCC's Tyler Groves was the meet medalist, shooting a 75.

WWG had three all-conference players. Anthony Ross tied for third with an 87. Andrew Quade tied for seventh with a 92 and Kyle Kuehl was ninth with a 93. Nathan Ross added a 100.

Justin Klabunde led RRC with a 100, followed by Cade Bittner with a 103, Tyler Horning with a 105 and Sam Dammann with a 115.

Ryan Pedersen paced MLAC with a 98. Dima Hanson added a 101, followed by Junior Louangsaphakdy with a 125. Brodie Freeman and Thomas Regier each shot a 133.
