Eagles, Chargers run at Trojan Relays

Trojan Relays
Windom and Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central battled a loaded field Tuesday at the annual Trojan Relays, held in Worthington.

In the Class AA division, Windom's girls took seventh with 73¼ points. Luverne won the team title with 116 points. Windom's boys were eighth in Class AA with 40½ points. Worthington won the team title with 143 points.

In Class A, WWG/RRC's boys were third with 96½ points. Southwest Christian-Edgerton won the team title with 173½ points. WWG/RRC's girls were seventh with 54½ points. SWCE won the team title with 169 points.

Individually for Windom, the girls were led by freshman Delaney Smith, who captured first place in the discus (111-1) and set a meet record to win the shot put (41-8).

Emily Steen added a third-place finish in the shot put (34-0) and was fourth in the discus (92-9). Gracie Bucher placed third in the 800 (2:32.17). Lindsay Muller was third in the 100 hurdles (17.51). Victoria Christoffer took fifth in the 100 hurdles (18.04).

Windom's boys were led by Andres Cazares-Reyes, who placed fifth in both the shot put (41-9½) and discus (107-10). Daniel Green took fifth in the triple jump (37-5¼). Windom added a third-place finish in the 4x200 relay (1:38.81).

WWG/RRC's boys were led by Class A double-event winner Cody Willard, who won the 100 dash (11.58) and 200 dash (23.53) and took third in the long jump (18-11). Nathan Runck added a victory in the 3,200 (10:23.07).

Dalton Piotter placed second in the 1,600 (4:55.63). Kegan Zimmerman was fourth in the 400 (56.31). Spencer Halland was fourth in the high jump (5-4) Logan Pankonin was fifth in the 800 (2:25.81). WWG/RRC added a second-place finish in the 4x800 relay (8:54.06).

WWG/RRC's girls were led by Lina Vue, who was second in the pole vault (8-0) and fifth in the shot put (28-7). Camryn Bunting took second in the 100 hurdles (17.51) and fifth in the 300 hurdles (56.22). Elizabeth Strock was third in the 200 (28.99). Kennedy Vold was fourth in the pole vault (7-0). Kelsey DeSmith took fifth in the 200 (29.47).
