CORRECTION: Council to hear second reading of re-zoning for apartments

At tonight's Windom City Council meeting, the council will hear the second reading for the possible re-zoning of the EDA spec building from light industrial to multi-family residential.

This is a correction from an earlier online report that stated tonight's meeting would include a first reading and the second reading would occur later. The first reading was approved by a 5-0 vote of the council on July 21.

If tonight's reading is approved, the council will take effect and the site will be zoned residential. The Economic Development Authority has already sold the property to a developer who intends to turn the building into a single-level apartment complex. However, the sale will not go through if the property is not rezoned.
