Tuesday update: Cottonwood County up to 133 COVID-19 cases


Cottonwood County added one new case of COVID-19 in Tuesday's Minnesota Department of Health update, bringing the county's total to 133 cases of the virus.

Des Moines Valley Health and Human Services reports the newest patient is age 28. DVHHS added that five of the 133 cases are still considered active, within a minimum 10-day isolation period.

Jackson County's total number of cases remained at 54, with just one case currently considered active.

Regional totals for the virus include:
• Nobles County: 1,652 cases, 6 deaths.
• Watonwan County: 203 cases.
• Martin County: 156 cases, 5 deaths.
• Murray County: 51 cases.
• Brown County: 30 cases, 2 deaths.
• Redwood County: 16 cases.

Statewide numbers include:
• Overall cases: 36,303.
• Overall deaths: 1,441.
• Deaths in long-term care or assisted living: 1,131.
• Health-care workers diagnosed: 3,638.
• Overall hospitalized: 4,054.
• Currently hospitalized: 270.
• Currently in ICU: 136.
• Overall patients recovered: 31,601.
• Overall tests completed in state: 605,316.
