All Windom city playgrounds to close Friday morning

Windom city playgrounds will close Friday morning as part of Gov. Tim Walz' two-week stay at home order, according to Windom Park Superintendent Brian Cooley.

Earlier today announced he will spend part of Friday morning installing "closed" signs and caution tape on all of the city's playgrounds.

Cooley added that it is not a fun job.

"It is for the safety of the children," Cooley added. "The parks will still be open, except for the playground areas."

Several other area communities closed their playgrounds on Thursday. For more on the Coronavirus impact, locally, see the April 1 Cottonwood County Citizen and Citizen eEdition.
