Windom school levy dips by .71%

Windom Area Schools approved a preliminary property tax levy Monday that would decrease slightly from the current year.

The proposed 2026 levy, payable in 2027, totals about $4.64 million, a decrease of $33,297, or 0.71%, from the $4.67 million levy payable in 2026.

District Business Manager Holly Anderson said the district certifies the maximum amount at the preliminary stage because levy figures can continue to change before final certification.
“Each year we authorize the maximum levy to ensure that we receive all our state aid if adjustments are made,” Anderson said.
