City moves toward completing sale for Windomnet

The sale of Windomnet to Federated Rural Electric and Broadband moved a step closer at a special meeting of the Windom City Council last week.

The council reviewed and approved the purchase agreement for the $7.9 million sale.

The city had three stipulations that were part of the deal:

• Internet service for 12 city locations.
• Seats on an advisory committee.
• Employment offers to Windomnet employees.

Mayor Hilary Mathis and council member Jenny Quade were selected to serve on an advisory committee.

More from the special meeting appears in the Sept. 30 print and e-editions of the Citizen.
