TUESDAY VOLLEYBALL: Huskies pull past Eagles; Falcons top Dutchmen

JCC 25-25-22-25 = 3
Windom 15-15-25-15 = 1

The Windom Eagle volleyball team couldn’t keep pace with Jackson County Central’s offensive firepower Tuesday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Huskies at Windom.

It was the Eagles’ first loss on their home court since the 2024 season.

JCC came out firing on all cylinders at the net and from the service line, where the Huskies recorded 15 ace serves in the match. That allowed JCC to build comfortable leads in each of the first two sets.

The Eagles were able to battle back in the third set, surging late to claim a 25-22 win. But the Huskies’ tall lineup showed good balance at the net, keeping the Eagle defense off-balance to win the fourth and final set.

Sadie Tjentland paced the Eagles at the net with 12 kills. Makenzi Meyeraan added 10 kills.

Ember Struck was 14-of-14 serving with an ace. Tjentland was 11-of-12 with an ace and Addison Evans was 11-of-13 with an ace.

Ali Lund finished with 28 set assists and had a team-high nine digs.

The Falcons had a strong night from the service line and good balance at the net to spark the victory. RRC and Edgerton split the first two sets before the Falcons settled in, pulling away to win the final two sets.

Sophie Paplow led RRC at the service line with three aces on 24-of-25 serving. Natasha Erickson went 26-of-27 with two aces and Zoey Keck was 16-of-17 with three aces.
