EDA looks to develop Dynamite Park

Cottonwood County Commissioners heard from the Windom Economic Development Authority about plans to potentially develop the current Dynamite Park, possibly for housing.

The county had deeded the land for the park to the city of Windom. However, the deed stated that if the land was not used as a park, it would either revert to the county or the profits from the sale would go to the county.

The suggested plan was to have the city transfer the land back to the county through a quit claim deed, with the county then using a quit claim deed to transfer the land to the EDA, since the city cannot directly transfer the land to the EDA.

No action by the county could be taken until the city acts to transfer the land.
