The Windom Pirates advanced to the semifinal round of the Region 10C amateur baseball tournament with a 10-0 victory over Fox Lake Saturday in Truman.
The win gave the Pirates a 2-0 sweep of the best-of-three series against the Foxes.
The top-seeded Pirates will now face the fourth-seeded Luverne Redbirds in the regional semifinals. Game one in the best-of-three series will be tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Island Park. Game two will be played Friday in Luverne at 7:30 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Island Park.
The winner will earn a berth in the Class C State Tournament and will face the winner of the other semifinal series in a best-of-three championship series. The other semifinal series features the second-seeded Fairmont Martins facing the sixth-seeded Jackson Bulls.
The losers of the semifinal series will play a best-of-three series to determine the third and final seed out of the region to qualify for the state tournament. Both the championship series and third-place series will begin on Aug. 12.
