In a split vote, the Windom City Council voted to sell the city’s Windomnet fiber optics network to Federated Rural Electric and Broadband.
The vote occurred at a special meeting last night (Tuesday) at Windom City Hall.
The council had also considered offers from Midco and Southwest Broadband. During the discussion, both Sherman and Esplan appeared to be leaning toward Southwest Broadband, according to Loren Liepold, who covered the meeting for the Cottonwood County Citizen.
