Candidates for city and school district offices have until July 28 to officially file their candidacy for the upcoming November general election.
In the city of Windom, there is one contested race as of Wednesday morning. Incumbent at-large council member Dennis Esplan filed for re-election, while Janice Vitcak also filed for election to the position.
Incumbents Jenny Quade (Ward 1) and James Nelson (Ward 2) also have filed for re-election, with no challengers as of Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, no candidates have filed for three four-year seats on the Windom school board. Incumbents Bruce Mews, Angie Klassen and Brianne Miller have their terms expire at the end of the year.
