A rural Storden man died Thursday after becoming trapped in a grain bin, according to a press release from the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office.
Cottonwood County dispatch received a report at 7:46 p.m. Thursday, June 11, of a person trapped inside a grain bin in rural Storden. The caller reported that the man could not be seen inside the bin.
First responders were paged to the scene and attempted to locate the man. He was found submerged under about 3 feet of corn, according to the release.
The man was transported by ambulance to Sanford Westbrook Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as William Quade, 72, of rural Storden.
Assisting at the scene were the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, Westbrook Police Department, Storden Fire and First Responders and Westbrook Ambulance.
