Section 2A Boys First Round
For the first time in program history, the Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey boys golf team advanced to the Section 2A finals as a team, after placing third in the opening round of the tournament Tuesday at North Links in Mankato.
The Wolverines scored a 345 opening-round total. Sleepy Eye United held the tournament lead after the first round with a score of 328.
Individually for the Wolverines, Aidan Olson finished the opening round in seventh place, shooting an 82. Brayden Oakland was tied for 17th with an 87. Micah Fast and Gideon Winger each shot an 88 on the opening day of the tourney.
The Wolverine boys will play in the Section 2A finals on June 1 at North Links. The girls team open its tournament Thursday.
