Andy R. Baccam, 45, of Brooklyn Park, has been charged in Cottonwood County District Court with two counts of second-degree assault, making terroristic threats and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the criminal complaint, on April 29, a Mt. Lake police officer responded to a report of a domestic incident involving a handgun.
The victim reported that Baccam had pointed a handgun at her head and later followed her around with a hammer. The victim also showed the officer a loaded 9mm handgun and text messages referencing the incidents.
Baccam has a prior conviction for threats of violence from Sept. 24, 2001, and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
The charge of felon in possession of a firearm carries a maximum possible sentence, if convicted, of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine, with a mandatory minimum five years in prison.
Each of the two second-degree assault charges carries a maximum possible sentence, if convicted, of seven years in prison and/or a $14,000 fine. The charge of threats of violence carries a maximum possible sentence, if convicted, of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
