Emily Capetillo, 18, of Mt. Lake has been charged in Cottonwood County District Court with three counts of disseminating pornographic material involving a minor.
According to the criminal complaint, a counselor at Red Rock Ridge School stated a student had been shown inappropriate videos by Capetillo, depicting Capetillo and a minor engaged in sexual acts.
Further investigation showed Capetillo posting explicit images and videos on social media sites. A preservation request and search warrant were issued for those accounts, leading to the retrieval of records that included deleted files.
If convicted, the first count carries a maximum possible sentence of seven years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Subsequent counts carry a maximum possible sentence, if convicted, of 15 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
