Cottonwood County Public Works announced that a bridge replacement project is starting today.
The project is for a bridge on County Road 5, located three-quarters of a mile south of Highway 62. Work was scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. today.
Work being completed includes replacing the bridge, installing rip rap and road grading and paving.
The roadway will be closed until September. Motorists are asked to follow alternate routes and the posted detours.
The posted detour takes traffic on these roads:

• Cottonwood County 6
• Jackson County 7
• Jackson County 32
• Jackson County 9
