The Windom baseball team capitalized on extra runners Tuesday as it rolled to a 16-6 five-inning win over Pipestone at Island Park.
The Eagles had nine hits in the game, but drew 12 walks from Arrow pitchers and made the most of five Pipestone errors in the field.
Windom got on the board in the bottom of the first when Hayden Tietz scored on a double steal.
In the second, Ben Ludewig plated a run with a bunt single and later scored on an error. Joe Walinga and Matthew Voehl then drew bases-loaded walks, giving the Eagles a 5-1 lead.
Pipestone cut the lead to 5-4 in the top of the third, scoring three runs on an Eagle error, but the Eagles put the game out of reach in the bottom of the third with six runs.
Jackson Joyce hit an RBI single, followed by a two-run Soren Nielsen double. Voehl added a sacrifice fly and two runs scored on Arrow errors, giving Windom an 11-4 lead.
A sacrifice fly by Tietz in the fourth gave Windom a 12-6 lead. Then, in the fifth, Ludewig drew a bases-loaded walk, Matt Redman hit an RBI single and Tietz hit a two-run single to end the game via the 10-run rule.
Tietz, Nielsen and Redman each had two hits in the win.
Walinga picked up the pitching win, working four innings. He allowed five hits, walked two and struck out four.

Madelia blew open what had been a close game Tuesday, claiming a 10-1 victory over Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey at Searles.
The Blackhawks plated eight runs in the bottom of the fifth, breaking the game open.
Madelia scored in the second, but the Wolverines tied the game in the top of the third. Thomas Hesse hit a two-out double, stole third and scored when Khalid Fontanez reached on an error.
Madelia regained the lead in the bottom of the third, then pulled away with an eight-run fifth.
Heber Morales had two hits in the loss.
Hesse took the pitching loss, working the first 4-⅓ innings. He allowed 10 hits, walked two and struck out one.
