Howard Wood Relays
The Windom Eagle track and field team had one entry at this weekend’s Howard Wood Relays, held in Sioux Falls. For the first time in several years, the Eagles captured a medal at the meet.
The boys 4×800 relay team of Bryce Green, Caelen Ralston, Isaac Bordewyk and Braylen Lyons placed seventh at the meet, finishing with a season-best time of 8:30.29.
Sentinel Relays
Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey and Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin each took part in the Sentinel Relays Friday in Fairmont.
For the girls, MCWBO placed fourth with 86 points. MLAC was seventh with 34. St. Clair won the Class A girls team title with 217 points.
For the boys, MCWBO was sixth with 49 points. MLAC was seventh with 40. St. Clair won the Class A boys team title with 178 points.
MLAC’s girls were paced by Gracie Peters, who won the 400-meter dash (1:01.96). Katie Johnson was second in the 1,600 (5:48.13). Emily Johnson was fourth in the 3,200 (14:22.17).
MLAC’s boys were led by Cooper Evers, who won the 1,600 (4:40.33). Joseph Torres was third in the 1,600 (4:50.23). Cameron Meyer was fourth in the high jump (5-10). MLAC’s 4×800 relay team of Evers, Ben Falk, Rolando Tema Tema and Torres also placed first (8:55.35).
The MCWBO girls were paced by Mylee Larson, who won the shot put (31-10½) and took second in the discus (101-1). Hannah Cole was second in the long jump (14-9½).
The MCWBO boys were led by Lixon Forsberg, who placed second in the long jump (18-9). Kane Wohlhuter was fourth in the pole vault (9-0).
Lakeview Invite
The Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central girls were sixth and the boys seventh at the Lakeview Invitational, held Thursday in Cottonwood.
WWG/RRC’s girls finished with 58 points. Russell-Tyler-Ruthton won the meet with 113.
The WWG/RRC boys scored 26½ points. Wabasso won the meet with 128.
The Charger girls were led by Addison Warner, who won the 1,600 (6:00.82). Miranda Mischke won the high jump (5-0) and was third in the 1,600 (6:25.71). Ally Linder was second in the shot put (29-8). Sophie Paplow took third in the discus (79-10).
For the boys, Bowen Hesse won the 110 hurdles (15.87). Adrian Yang took second in the pole vault (11-6).
