New Ulm Invite
The Windom boys placed fourth and the girls seventh at the New Ulm Invitational, held Tuesday.
The Eagle boys finished with 77 points. Marshall won the team title with 127 points.
The Eagle girls scored 26 points. Minnesota Valley Lutheran won the team title with 167 points.
Windom’s boys had two individual first-place finishes. Elliot Serreyn placed first in the high jump (6-2) and Braylen Lyons won the 400-meter dash (54.06). The Eagle team of Bryce Green, Caelen Ralston, Isaac Bordewyk and Lyons won the 4×800 relay (8:57.39).
Green added a runner-up finish in the 800 (2:15.77). Trent Rothenberger was second in the shot put (48-½) and third in the discus (115-8) in his first meet of the season. Royce Smith was second in the discus (116-5) and Jeffrey Barrios was third in the shot put (39-10).
For the girls, Lilly Meyer had the lone win of the day, taking first in the discus (95-7) with Jenna Harrington fourth (81-11).
Spartan Invite
Martin County West/Butterfield-Odin placed fifth and Mt. Lake Area/Comfrey placed sixth in both the girls and boys team standings at the Spartan Invitational, held Tuesday in St. James.
For the girls, MCWBO finished with 55 points. MLAC had 40. St. James/Madelia won the team title with 146 points.
For the boys, MCWBO scored 38 points. MLAC finished with 37. Maple River won the team title with 198½ points.
The MCWBO girls were led by Evelynn Christenson, who won the 1,600-meter run (5:51.00). Mylee Larson was second in the shot put (32-1). Hannah Cole took second in the long jump (13-7) and third in the triple jump (29-1).
The MCWBO boys were led by Kane Wohlhuter, who won the pole vault (9-0). Brody Cook placed fourth in the 800 (2:27.40). Hayden O’Connor was fourth in the triple jump (34-4).
MLAC’s girls were led by Gracie Peters, who won the 400 (1:02.00) and was third in the 100 (13.80). Katie Johnson took second in the 800 (5:51.40). Hannah Beyer was fourth in the 400 (1:07.10) and the 800 (2:45.20). Emily Johnson took fourth in the 3,200 (14:23.80).
The Wolverine boys were led by Cooper Evers, who won the 1,600 (4:46.90) with Joseph Torres second (4:48.80). MLAC’s team of Evers, Ben Falk, Rolando Tema Tema and Torres won the 4×800 relay (8:56.57). Cameron Meyer added a third-place finish in the high jump (5-4).
Bob Nangle Relays
Westbrook-Walnut Grove/Red Rock Central’s girls tied for ninth and the boys placed 12th at the Bob Nangle Relays, held Tuesday in Pipestone.
The Charger girls finished with 23 points. Luverne won the team title with 142.
The Charger boys scored 20 points. Murray County Central won the team title with 123½.
The Charger girls were led by third-place finishes from Miranda Mischke in the high jump (4-8) and Asa Olson in the long jump (14-1¼).
For the boys, Adrian Yang won the pole vault (11-6). Bowen Hesse placed second in the 110 hurdles (15.91).
